Kashyapa Buddhist Centre

Kashyapa Buddhist Centre provides the people of Bradford with the opportunity to learn about Buddhist teachings and practise meditation.
The purpose of Kashyapa Centre is to help people throughout West Yorkshire find happiness within our own hearts, a place where you can leave behind the stress and chaos of daily life to find some peace, wisdom and clarity. It offers Buddhist meditation classes for modern day lifestyles, methods to improve your life, and meditation teachers that will help you learn how to relax and lead a more peaceful and beneficial way of life. Many people who are interested in learning how to meditate and in practising the Buddhist way of life attend the classes and programmes.
Kashyapa Centre is one of many Buddhist Centres established by the renowned Buddhist master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Together these Centres form the New Kadampa Tradition, (NKT).
As well as our meditation classes we try to contribute to the local community wherever way we can. Our activities include:
- Chaplaincy and patient visiting work in local hospitals.
- An extensive school visit programme.
- Relaxation and meditation classes at the Marie Curie hospice
- Working with the Bridge Project, a drug rehabilitation project.
- Participation in local inter-faith initiatives.
We also provide accommodation for Buddhist practioners and those who wish to follow a spiritual way of life in a conducive environment. We also have rooms available for short term breaks or retreats, a week, a month or even a few days. If you are interested in staying at Kashyapa Centre please contact us.
Kashyapa Centre is a registered charity and relies upon donations and volunteers.
