These chanted meditations, or 'pujas', follow a range of Buddhist prayer booklets prepared by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Engaging in pujas is a special method for purifying negativity, accumulating merit and receiving blessings. It helps develop and maintain a positive mind and is a good way to prepare the mind for meditation. These prayer booklets, known as sadhanas, can also be used for individual practice and are available from tharpa.com.
Everyone is welcome to attend the pujas which are chanted in English. Booklets are provided with all the words. There is no need to book, and no fee.

Je TsongkhapaThis practice is at the heart of Kadampa Buddhism. In the first part of this practice we meditate upon the guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa - the wisdom Buddha - to receive his powerful blessings. Through this we can develop our wisdom, and find inspiration and success in all our spiritual activities.
Dorje ShugdanIn the second part of this practice we rely upon the great Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden overcomes obstacles and creates perfect conditions for our spiritual practice to flourish. In the middle there is a 20 minute pause for Meditation
If we engage in these practices regularly and sincerely, we shall reap a rich harvest of pure Dharma realizations, and eventually come to experience the supreme joy of full enlightenment.
An extensive explanation of these sadhanas can be found in the book Heart Jewel by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Offering to the Spiritual Guide10th and 25th of each month, contact us for times.

Offering to the Spiritual Guide is a practice where we emphasize relying upon our Spiritual Guide, through making offerings to him and all the Buddhas, and receiving their blessings. Through this we greatly increase our good fortune and our potential to gain the realizations of all Buddha's Teachings. You are welcome to bring along your own offerings of flowers, food etc to this puja. The puja lasts for just under two hours. With a tea break!
